Gilberto Gil in concert
This event has now finished

A radiant sound.
Gilberto Gil is one of the titans of the Brazilian music scene along with his close friend Caetano Veloso, whom he met during his exile in 1967 at the height of the Brazilian dictatorship.
Gil is the leading figure of the "Tropicalismo" movement, the Brazilian equivalent of the "Movida Madrilena" created by poet and polemicist Oswald de Andrade. These movements were the forerunners of modern anti-globalisation, proning resistance to this global community and a form of cultural creation based on creative "cannibalism" - taking from others to create one's own, unique culture.
