Beginning in 2002, the New York City Horror Film Festival is now America’s largest genre film festival.
Sixty never-before-seen films are shown every year and compete to win the award for the Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and Audience Choice. The festival also gives a Lifetime Achievement Award to one legendary horror filmmaker, with past winners including George Romero, Tom Savini, Tobe Hopper and Roger Corman.
